Do you remember this?  Vz.58s that were de-milled but somehow rebuilt into full auto before they got smuggled into U.K. Along with F.A. Scorpions and ammo to boot.

Article is about stabbings and crime rate,  but the Vz.58 video is included down below in the article.

The post above is opinion, and I am probably totally wrong, so please pardon me if I offend anyone in any way. I am speaking only for myself and just sharing my thoughts, not trying to start an argument with anyone, and if you disagree with anything I have said, I concede your correct.

Plausible deniability -- the Soviets sent VZ58s and scorpions to a lot of places where they wanted a third degree of separation.  B/c of this, there became considerable inventories sent to various left wing paramilitaries, etc, throughout western Europe and anywhere there was a proxy war (or preparations for future war) between the West/NATO and Soviet/Communist/Socialist interests throughout the 1970s and 1980...

VZ58s were found during our Vietnam war in Vietnam, throughout Central/South America (Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Chile, Nicaragua, Grenada, etc), sub-Saharan Africa (Tanzania, Angola, Uganda, Ethiopia, Somalia, etc), Mediterranean (Libya and Cyprus), and Far East (including aforementioned Vietnam, India, and Indonesia), etc.

So VZ58s are relatively common for no definitive source firearms...  Depending on open insurgency (VZ58) vs more covert ops (Scorpion), both are found with a fair bit of frequency.

Interestingly with the VZ58, it's found nearly as often as the AR18 in the Troubles in Northern Ireland, but opposite sides (AR18 IRA, VZ58 loyalist forces).   Recall seeing this a couple years back -- the VZ58 being provided from South Africa/Armscorp to British Government and to Loyalist forces in Northern Ireland.  A couple links to the story:

There are some good stories in South African and other such places where there were ample supplies during these proxy wars of caches continuing to be found:

Watching that vid -- I'm surprised they were able to trace them to Slovakia, presumably relatively recently.  AFAIK, the French massacre VZ58s where not traceable...  Perhaps a difference in supply availability from the continent vs the isles.

Also, at least one of the VZ58s looks to have had a 12-13" barrel...

Depressing. The government has cracked down hard on de-milled gun exports in Slovakia after the Paris massacre, too late for the victims. A few irresponsible morons wanting to turn a quick buck can give such a potent tool into the hands of the worst possible animals.

Did they ultimately trace the Paris guns to Slovakia demilled kits?  I hadn't heard that -- if so, interesting in light of article CP posted above...

I am afraid so, a company called AFG were selling de-milled and blank firing AKs and VZs to some foreign buyers who have converted them into live firing guns and sold them off to the jihadis. Today you'd need a permit from your own country if you wanted to buy such weapons in Slovakia.

The solution is for citizens of Europe to arm themselves and tell the respective governments to go bleep themselves.

Wow, that's crazy.  Have any links or sources to where you can find out info on the AFG blank guns?  Curious about how demilled/modified they were.

http://www.afg.sk/zbrane/ This is their weblink but I haven't had any dealings with them personally. They look very well supplied though.
