CZ Evo Pistol Holster
« on: January 24, 2017, 01:51:58 PM »
In Texas, if you are LTC (Licensed to Carry), you can open carry a pistol in a holster ONLY LEGALLY.

The question is, have any of you successfully used this or other holsters for a CZ Evo?

In Indiana, you have the LTCH, which is specifically for handgun but you don't need one for a long gun and you can open carry, so if I really want to...I can get a rig just like that and it'd be awesome with the new folding brace thingy I just installed

In TX  we can open carry handguns as long as you're licensed and gun is in either a belt or shoulder holster. Long guns are open carry/no license required. That's a pretty sinister looking rig right there. You'd have to have some big nards to go walking around in public sporting that setup. People would lose their freaking minds if someone came strolling into the local grocery store wearing that rig, combat boots, black gloves and terminator sunglasses.

get a harness that has a sling attachment. the firearm hangs under you arm. like what the secret service uses

if you use a jacket, it just disappears
2 things you never want to hear when you pull the trigger:

"click" when you expect it to go "bang" and

"bang" when you expect it to go "click"

I'm going to be that guy.  That is really weird to want to carry around an EVO.

Perception is everything and you aren't doing anyone any favors.

I have no issue with anyone wanting to legally carry their EVO, perfectly legal in Arizona openly or concealed, but I would highly encourage people who want to carry such a firearm to conceal it in a purpose built bag like a 5.11 covert sling bag. That rig there is guaranteed to attract all the wrong attention, UNLESS you painted it to look like a Stormtrooper weapon from Star Wars. Then everyone will just assume you are 100% nerd geek. ;)

Meh, I was hoping for a drop leg kydex rig.  ;)  I suppose under an unlined parka or trench coat, that would work. I will keep mine in one of those guitar cases when traveling with it.

Ditto. It's hard enough fighting for our rights.

Depends on your location, really. Doing that in a major city, that would go over like flatulence in church, no matter how legal it might be. Even in Phoenix or Flagstaff someone would likely be calling someone, "Umm, this is going to sound weird, but there's some guy walking around with some kind of machine gun on him!" I knew a guy years ago in Tucson that would "mess with the cops" by driving his little Honda scooter, (with flame paint job, not kidding), with an AK slung over his back. He got pulled over a lot, and while they couldn't do anything to him, they would get very irritated with him. Don't poke the bear.
Out in the woods farting around, or small game hunting, meh. One thing this TYPE of pistol might be good for is a very narrow window - bow hunter in AZ can carry pistols for self defense while hunting. It IS a pistol...technically, and in some of our hunting areas, I might be looking for something with a little more than the average snubbie. Pain to carry unless you work on it, but could be done. That would also apply to the BREN pistol and the carious other "pistols" of an AK or AR flavor.
I wouldn't mind seeing our Tactical Support Units adopting it as an SBR...very handy in tight confines.

In Vegas, I have seen people with the police style gun belts, with a bunch of stuff on them, flashlights, cuffs, gun, mags, they wear combat pants, or cargo shorts, and a polo shirt with a logo on it, or a dress shirt with epaulettes.  No one says anything, sometimes I see people like this servicing atm machines.  If they walked into a casino, security would stop them for sure.   But otherwise it is a "cop-tical illusion." Their are a lot of "fake cops"  in casinos and downtown, etc. private security, etc.

Once the sheriff (elected) was on talk radio taking questions from the public.  I called in and asked:  "can anyone just put on a shirt or hat that says 'security' on it and walk around?  answer:  "YES"

I don't think the guy wearing a "security" T-Shirt at the local coin laundry has a license or training either.  http://articles.latimes.com/2012/oct/23/nation/la-na-pahrump-20121023

So just "blend in"
