used to be very typical of subcompacts.  You may not hear it much, but I?d bet other subcompacts don?t get the same round counts RAMIs get.

A while back I used to see a lot of used subcompacts for sale at 1/2 to 1/3 msrp.  I?d test fire them and it would be one ftf after another, and all they needed to get going was a new set of springs.  I got some nice S&W, Kahr, and AMT subcompacts that way.

Some newer springs are supposed to be better now, the M&P Shield springs are supposed to go 5,000 rounds now, but I don?t have experience with those.

I am new to the Rami too.  Having said that the smaller the gun and more powerful the cartridge, the more difficult it is for any manufacturer to balance everything perfectly. The smaller the gun, the harder they are on recoil springs.  Even the subcompact Kimbers sometimes have issues.  My Rami seems to be getting more reliable with the number of shots piling up (and a stronger spring on the 14 round mag.)  As previously mentioned, the 10 round magazines seldom give trouble, are much nicer to carry, drop easier when reloading in a hurry, and (I) shoot the little gun just as well with the smaller mag.

The firing pin retaining pin is vulnerable to dry-firing damage (too soft), but that's an easy fix, if necessitated by the desire to be able to practice with laser bullets, and this issue is not exclusive to the RAMI.  http://www.czforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=5426.msg22929#msg22929

The RAMI BD is almost guaranteed to be the final fix vs. "buyer's remorse:" there's nothing on the market that even comes close to its happy balance of legendary ergonomics, reliability, and accuracy, with subcompact concealability, recoil "softness" (for a subcompact), "real gun" DA/SA with decocker functionality, 7075 T6 Alloy internally railed frame, and TruDot Tritium night sights.

Hear, hear 007_Bond, I agree, concur, and affirm wholeheartedly. For whatever reason(s), the RAMI's extended-magazine grip has that Goldilocks "Just Right" that no other pistol I've handled even remotely approaches!

In reality it's not a new design: an heir of the CZ40B, the 2075 RAMI was introduced in 2007 so has few or no bugs beyond factory-deliberate use of a soft, firing pin sticking-susceptible coiled firing pin retaining pin ("Firing Pin Coiled Pin"), easily replaced by CGW or McMaster-Carr Mil-Spec http://www.mcmaster.com/nav/enter.asp?partnum=97855A170 spring pin upgrades (install with gap upward).
