Bought one today.  Dealer discounted it since it didn't come with the "bundled" 50 round box of ammo.

They evidently sold the ammo to someone separately and tried to charge me full price at first.

Meanwhile, i'm going to have to order the ammo directly from the manufacturer...one ammo dealer on the internet is selling 7.5 FK rounds for $3.95 apiece-limit 3 rounds per customer.

After I lay in a supply of ammo I'll give some range feedback.

Nice rugged lockable box.

Weight is surprisingly heavy (44 oz...just under 3 lbs)--even empty, but allows even my smallish hands a good grip.

Looking forward to shooting it!

It's made in the Czech Republic, so can I count it in my CZ count?  If so, I'm up to 35 now.

Finally heard back from the US importer.

Only ONE (1) of the THREE (3) types of 7.5 FK ammunition is available in the US--the frangible hollow points.

It goes for $85 for a box of 50.

That's still cheaper than the $12.50/round for the CZ 550 Safari in .458 Lott that I saw at a gun show in Kerrville, Texas.

Remember the 5.7x25mm?!?

I have both an FN 5.7 and a PS90.

I don't reload as I now have 24 different calibers that I inventory.
I don't go through enough of any one to justify reloading.

thats your choice.

i thought the same years ago and when i started to buy guns i wasnt part of the 1% so i had to piecemeal my reloading setup for what i have now.  I also sat down and did some soul searching on what calibers i would buy.  Again, not part of the 1% so with the many various guns/cailbers and future calibers, i had to make a choice and stick with it.

But i dont have to worry about finding primers, bullets or powder now and i can have my fun.

Finally received my 200 rounds of 7.5 FK (the official designation) and went to the range.

Recoil is about the same as my CZ97 in .45 ACP. Not much muzzle rise due to the heavier dust cover and internal cycling weight.

My Walker earphones didn't make it seem as  loud as some have complained about.

Sweet shooter!

For field stripping they designed a feature that I wish many of my CZ's had:

When you pull back the slide to match up the dots you then flip up the safety.
This locks the slide so you can then tap out the slide release lever/pin without having to juggle things...NICE FEATURE!!

Release the safety and the slide comes right off without issue.

Speaking of the slide, it is fitted so perfectly it smoothly cycles without having to break it in or grease it.

The case it comes in is really well-designed.  It also comes with a stronger recoil spring and "normal" sights if you don't like the butterfly sights.  I prefer the butterfly as you can see what you're aiming at.

I'm trying to find out how many of these are out there...mine has a 3-digit sequence number.

A couple of updates after getting ammo and going to the range.

This gun is sweet to shoot.  Dead accurate even shooting off-hand (left) bullseye!  Further comment:  I had cataract surgery in my left eye 2 weeks ago and I have always been right-eye dominant.  The right eye will get done next week.  Then back to the range.

FK BRNO is now in the US so there are two sources for them and the ammo.

I was disappointed to find that the mags are a little too large front-to-back to work with my Uplula.  I'm going to look for a different loader or maybe modify one of my Uplulas (you can't have too many!).

The FK PSD is now becoming available (polymer frame version with interchangeable barrels in 10mm/.40 and 9 mm.  I plan on getting one soon.

It looks like all three ammo versions F9, F5 and S95 are going to be available here.  Different performance for different tasks.

I'll be posting more in a couple of weeks.

I am glad to hear that you enjoy shooting the Brno pistol. To me this gun is such a misunderstanding from a practical standpoint. I played with this gun a couple times, shot it and spoke two times to the guys of Brno. They were unable to convince me what is the point of placing their product on the market. First of all, what's the point of manufacturing a handgun with intention to shoot it at 100 m? Secondly, the gun is bleep heavy, has an awfull recoil, strange sights which make it difficult to win any match. The only reason I would see (besides collecting) to have this gun is to shoot wounded game like boar from a short distance. Thirdly, their developed a new cartridge which is very expensive to buy, there are zero components to reload it. The only advantage of the gun is its look and very nice finish.

I hog hunt twice a year and we routinely dispatch wounded hogs with 9mm Liberty Civil Defense. A side head shot blows blood and brains out the nose and results in an instantly lifeless animal.

Agreed. Why nitpick a boutique pistol like this. They made it because they could. There is a polymer framed version with an optics cut and caliber interchangeability coming out at a lower price around 2k. It might be more reasonable to nitpick that one.

Gratz on the new pistol rdcinhou. I would like to take one apart and see what is inside.
