Don't forget the US factory in KC that may or may not be quite ready yet - CZ was NOT happy with the guy who let that cat out of the bag early! CZ-UB told me in a different format that good things are coming this way.

I only heard of the new factory rumors only a few days ago.  What would this factory be used for aside from expanding production?  Does sort of sound like CZ may be trying to do what FB Radom tried to do with Marshall Arms with the Beryl and Grot (produce 922r spec conversion parts, possibly full NA production to get around 922r/NFA restrictions).

Completely unknown. I am willing to bet it starts with P series pistols, and then hopefully BREN and Scorpion. It wouldn't be "getting around" anything but producing domestically manufactured rifles in full compliance.  8) But everything is speculation at this point.

Hopefully it will make CZ firearms more generally available, and less dependent on the Spring and Fall shipments. As we all know, some models are only available for a short time after shipment arrives, then they dry up again. (Not counting the gun-broker speculators that re-list recent arrivals at inflated prices).

Yes, as the CZ-UB factory has many military and law enforcement contracts to fill world wide, which ties up production for civilian models, sometimes. I am also very curious to see what is actually produced.

The Bren 2 is a light gun. 6 lbs with brace. Felt recoil is more compared to AKs.

Trigger is clean smooth two stage setup. First stage is super easy to take up. Don't have a scale to verify, but pull weight is on par with my B&T KH9 in SA mode, which is in the 3 lb range. Definitely not a mil-spec trigger feel.

CG is good. Right in front of the magwell, with a fully loaded mag. Much lower moment of inertia, meaning easy to swing about.

Some people prefer fast cars, fine wines and beautiful women.  I'll take a Bren 2   ;)

Thanks for sharing all the glorious details.

Very nice indeed, and I'm with him - I'll take a BREN 2, but the carbine when it comes out. :) Caliber choice...not sure yet. :D

Question: is there any parts compatibility at all between the 805 and the Bren 2?

Great question.

I am speculating but it doesn't look like anything particularly helpful will be interchangeable:

Lower - No, different size, shape and mechanisms for trigger system, magazine and bolt release.
Upper - No, different size, shape and mechanisms for bolt carrier, gas tube, gas block, charging handle and sling mounts
Barrel - Maybe, possible barrel and compensator could be re-used
Stock - No, different back plate and stock
Accessories - Yes, sights and possibly side rails.  Different bottom rail size.

So, unfortunately just from a high level data sheet comparison it does not look like there is much interchangeability.  However, I do think it would be possible for CZ to offer an upgrade kit for the 805 of specialized parts that would address the most common requested features like non-reciprocating charging handle, bolt release and 3 position gas block.  That would be awesome but I would not count on it.

Here again, just guessing at this point and hopefully as more information becomes available we can update this list.

Wonder when the 922(r) kit will be available.  Of just wait for the carbine.   :-\
