My brand new CZ P-10C Suppressor Ready range review
« on: September 28, 2018, 02:42:37 AM »
This is my first CZ pistol...unless you count my Scorpion.  So, how did it do?  Before I went to the range I noticed the slide stuttered a little bit.  I thought it might loosen up after a shooting it.  It did loosen up some.  Keep in mind, I bought this yesterday.  It was brand new.
Serial number is 579***.  I would assume it was made this year.

So, I tried shooting some Winchester 115 FMJ.  It failed to eject every round in the first magazine.  Lots of stovepipes and a handful of double feeds.  I switched ammo to another 115 FMJ brass ammo.  It failed to go into battery every time.  When it failed to go into battery I tapped the slide.  It didn't help.  I dropped the mag and pulled the slide. The round was stuck in the chamber.  It took considerable force to get it to pull back.  I tried this about 5 more times and it failed to go into battery every time with that ammo.  I switched to some 124 hollow point.  It failed to eject some more but it started shooting a bit better.  I counted about 5 failures to go into battery.  Maybe 20 stovepipes and 5 double feeds.   It failed to hold the slide back on the last round on all 3 ammos every single time.  The pistol was manufactured this year.

I called CZ.  I admit the guy was nice and helpful.  I was nice.  It isn't his fault.  He said I might be limp wristing it but the failure to battery is likely something else.  The slide not locking back according to CZ might of been my grip.  It is entirely possible.  I have never had that happen in 20 years before but you never know.  It is a new pistol to me so it is possible that my thumb was on the slide level.  I never have had any issues with any pistol I have ever shot in my life.  The only gun I have ever had double feed up until this point in my life was a M16 in basic training.  Their computer system is down so I couldn't get return information.  I can't just drop it off at the factory(5 miles from my home).  It has to be mailed.  So, whenever the system comes back online I am supposed to get some return information.

Glad I spent all this money on some quality bleep.  So, when the computer comes back online I can wait 3 days for them to receive it.  Then was 2 weeks for them to fix it.  And, then another 3 days, and take time off work to sign for the package when it comes back to me.  I wish they would give me the option to exchange it for another gun of theirs.  I kind of feel like if a gun doesn't shoot when you buy it brand new you shouldn't have to keep it or lose your money.  CZ, if you are reading this can you just give me a P-07 Urban Grey Tactical Suppressor Ready and we will call it even.

What did Glock do?  Don't they test their guns?  What caused it?
You have pictures of it? I hope they went above and beyond to make it right.  I would love to see the damage is did.  I doubt I would ever by that model again.

edit:  After your story I looked up too see if that issue had been reported anywhere and I could not find it.  But, interestingly enough I found someone who was have one of the three issues I was having with my CZ.  He said he was close to their plant and stopped by for them to take a look.  The tech at the Glock plant said he couldn't duplicate the issue but here is a brand new Glock for you to take and exchanged it right on the spot.  Crazy, they let some person off the street come to the plant and get service done.  I wish CZ could do that.  Not make you mail something in when you are 5 miles away.  Actually engage their customers face to face.  Here is the link to the anecdotal comment.

I hope they get you sorted out, i had no luck with CZ's customer service when thevguide rod on my P10C fell apart. I had to fix it myself!

Couple things:

(a) Sorry it happened.
(b) Hope CZ takes care of you.
(c) Did you disassemble/clean it at all?  I see no mention of that.
(d) Tried any AZoom dummy rounds to see if they chamber?
(e) Maybe verify it's actually 9mm barrel vs. some other caliber by mistake.
(f) Take the barrel out and drop a round in to see if it headspaces properly.

Sorry if any of that is obvious or you have already done them.

(A)  Thanks, CZ isn't as sorry.  There system is still down.  They said it might be back up on Tuesday.  I am not convinced CZ has anything that works properly at this point.  I ordered some stuff from the webstore next day air 4 days ago.  It still hasn't even shipped.  If this was Glock or Smith and Wesson you could bring it right to the factory for assistance.
(B)Don't think so.  Maybe.
(C)Cleaned in on the spot.  I brought the cleaning kit to the range.  It was clean already.  But I wanted to make sure it was good to go.
(D)It is 9mm
(E)All the ammo I have here plunked and spun.  I do not have the failure to battery ammo here.  Even the 147 grain seemed to fit.

I'm not buying anymore junky blocks. I'll stick my CZ's. Never an issue with them.

I was being sarcastic because the gun is broke and so it the system to send it in to fix it.

Yeah I know exactly what you were doing. If CZ's system is down they will fix it. They have better customer service than most others. Not that I've needed them much but on the 2 occasions that I've had to use them over 20 years with CZ's now they were stellar and the issues were corrected properly the first time. Wish I could say the same for others out there like S&W.

I've used Glock's customer service and it was very good. My experience with their products unfortunately less so. Also had an issue withy first P10 and CZ customer service was good as well. Seems odd that your ammo plunked, spun and then got stuck in the chamber?

I didn't have the ammo that wouldn't go into battery here to test it.  And, I am not going to buy it again if it didn't work.  I will find some time to go to the store and test it with my barrel.  But, all the ammo here wouldn't feed for bleep.  Stove pipe city!  I saw a video review of a suppressor model.  He couldn't not get one bullet to eject in an entire magazine.  He has wrote an article about it on the Truth about Guns website.

Sorry to hear about your P10C. I have never had to use CZ customer service, but from what I read on the forum it usually seems pretty good. I do hope they get it fixed for you. All my CZs work like a charm, including my P10C. I was at the range today and shot my suppressor ready P09. What a wonderful shooting pistol. Super smooth and easy to shoot. Now my SIG P365 is a problem child. It has been back to the factory 2 times and still is not fixed. I've owned this pistol for 3 months and it has been at SIG for repairs for 2 of the 3 moths. So I do feel your pain. Best of luck.

Have you had someone else shoot your P-10?

No, I haven't had someone shoot it other than me.  My wife and kids are real big gun experts.  They wouldn't be able to trouble shoot and they have poor mechanics.  I figured I would be pretty well equipped at shooting after 11 years in the military serving in the 101st Airborne.  I don't compete or anything.  I am not that level.  But, I feel like I can shoot a gun okay.  I don't know how much tighter I could hold it in place.  I am only 6'1 and weight 200.  You think if someone else shot it they might not have issues?

I do admit while I was shooting it my focus was not on a target.   I was mainly just worrying about grip placement and watching how the rounds that did eject came out of the gun.  I was also very focused on if they rounds ejected at all.  I was hitting paper at 50 yards pretty well when I was watching the target.
