The CZ 75's in matte or polished are stainless. There are several threads here on the P-01's that weren't stainless and turned out to be nickel plated.
I thought that the full size guns had stainless frames and, that’s what I don’t understand... CZ can make full-size frames in stainless, and for the compacts they have them plated? What kind of moron thought that would fly? Total fail on CZ’s part.. There’s no reason they couldn’t have made the compact frames in stainless.. Hopefully, they learned from this asshattery...
From what I heard, the faux compact stainless that hit US shores were surplus items from a contract in India. They were nickel-plated for the Indians, and never meant for the US market. Yeah, I agree with you. CZ screwed up by advertising it as pure stainless here in the US, but first CZ sales put that gun in the $500 range with buyers not knowing any better. Only after the gun approached the $1000 mark did buyers learn they were duped when the plating on the slides and frames began to chip and flake after extensive firing. Yet, these POS guns still kept selling at a premium because of its so-called collectability (I mean really? The gun was a fake, and the CZ markings on the slides looked like a rush job to me after I held and inspected one up close at my LGS). Turns out my LGS sold it for $1400 late last year. I couldn't believe it!
