You're going to have to meet me up at lake Livingston and help catch a bunch of white bass, crappie, and catfish if you want a fish fry.
Lake Livingston huh, no kidding? I have family from there. It’s a small town so you may know them, Sonny and Kay Dyke? They had four kids, Amory, John, Caleb and Cannon.

If some of you are saying there’s a .22 LR shortage I haven’t seen that in my area. I went to two Walmarts and one Academy yesterday and they all had a fair amount of .22 LR but barely any .22 Magnum.

22lr isn’t ravaged like 9mm yet, but if this follows the pattern of last shortages then it will be scarce and it will take longer to come back than the other calibers.

Gotcha

Maybe not in your area, but here people are standing in line for it

These current ammo prices are going to put a serious crimp in gun prices IMO. On Gunbroker, 1000rds of 9mm Federal target ammo going for ~$650 delivered is hard to accept.

My mistake was deciding on buying a CZ 75BD during the pandemi and rioting.  Did not need it but wanted one. Got it at less than suggested retail. Ammo however was a whole other adventure in capitalism. After waiting for local supplies to be replenished, which were not and no sign they would be, I went to gunbroker and purchased 9mm. Hardball and jhp. There were a couple of fellows with buy it now pricing a little more reasonable than others.  Buy once, cry once.

Better to have the adventure in capitalism than not have it available in socialism.
Let's go Brandon!

This is very true. Fortunately, I was buying when prices were around $.16 to $.18 a round.

Being out of ammo is harder to accept for me.
Thank goodness I don't need to buy any now.

REALLY widh i could find a Kadet kit for my P07 and P09!

I found a Kadet kit for my P07 days before everything shut down for $150 used. This is what I have been shooting for the most part since then.

Great find! Hope I can find a deal like this. No going to hold my breath with the way things are right now.

the shops in our area are empty of most common calibers.  Even 22LR.

Some of the odd/expensive stuff can be found, but you wont be seeing someone panic buying those calibers or collector guns.

Doubt ammo prices will crimp gun prices -- most are first time buyers.  Current owners are buying the mags, spare parts, and ammo.

New shooters are just "getting a gun" to keep their family safe.  They'll take it to the range once or maybe take a basic shooters course and buy a couple doo-dads, but for the most part they aren't shooting their guns -- they're just safety blankets.

Nailed it. What worries me is that the amount of new gun owners could make things more dangerous.

Then consider reloading....

Read "Is Reloading For Me ?" in the Ammo & Handloading Forum stickies.

I mentioned previously that a friend of mine was gonna let me use his reloading equipment but I either couldn't find the supplies or the prices weren't worth it.
