Specifically, what made you pick either the PCR or P-01 over the other model? I imagine the P-01 might be more useful due to its light rail that allows you to mount a light, but I'm not sure how needed a weapon mounted light is for a CCW pistol.
I started that journey with a P-01, because I got a killer deal on it. Carried it for 10 years. However, the PCR to me has always been the best hammer fired metal framed CCW pistol ever made, had more than one over the years. I just seems to be the perfect side, weight and without the rai, (which I only used for a light on the nightstand anyway), and the low mount Novak style sights, plus that interesting LCI on top of the slide, it just punched all the right buttons. Even being dated nowadays, I'd still carry one without hesitation, great pistol!

Would you prefer a polymer framed gun in this size without a rail, since all pretty much do?

Point I'm getting at is that at this size, it makes sense to have a rail.  Pretty much everything and anything I'd consider carrying w/o a rail (an actual advantage in not having a rail) would be a pocket pistol, not a sub-compact...

I have both the P01 and the PCR. Whether the difference in feel is real or imagined, I prefer th PCR. Balance and feel are important to me, I guess that is why I carry CZs.

I picked up the pcr a few months ago because that is what was available. I'm loving the lightness of it compared to the sp-01 and 97b. I can shoot it it for a good amount of time at the range and not start losing control of the poa. It's way accurate, so I don't really feel i'm giving up too much. I do love the 97 though with some light loads through it.

I'm still deciding whether to get a PCR or PO1 knowing that either will serve as good as my 75b.

I heard today (or thought I heard) that at one time the PO1 came with the 75b safety, not the decocker. Is that correct? Are they only available on the used market?

Thanks.

Steel framed compacts w/ ambi safeties are all I'm aware.  Some were marked P01 on the slides, but still steel frames AFAIK.  Search here for specific model #s, etc.

Just saw this thread and thought I would share my PCR and 75B Compact story.

A number of years ago (about 2013), I found a new PCR at a small gun store in West Michigan for a good price of about $540.  When I went to the front of the store to pay for it, they only charged me $440.  I questioned this but they said $440 was the correct price.

This thing is fantastic and is one of my favorite and best looking handguns.

About that same year, I found an almost new 75B, Compact for only $300.  I kept that gun for about a year and then foolishly sold it.  Recently, I got the urge for another one and was shocked about the prices (around $700 for a new one).  Last week I missed a used one for about $475 on Gun Broker.  However I just found a dealer in Missouri that allegedly has 20 of them new for $550 so I ordered it.

I guess overall, I have come out alright on these two CZ’s.  I just have to remember not to get stupid and sell either one of these again.

I sure don’t think you would find a story like this about any “plastic” guns.

Just some thoughts,

Trooper Joe

I picked a P01 Omega because it had a decocker and it had a rail for a light.

I chose the PCR because the controls are located identical to my SP-01 Tactical and the light rail or LCI was of no concern to me.

On a related note: Does anybody know if the ambi decocker lever for the SP-01 Tac will also fit the PCR?

Went from a Glock 19, to a CZ75 compact to a RDS SIG M18 to a CZ PCR to a Glock 43.

The 75 compact was a good shooter but heavy when carrying, surprisingly it never rusted.  The M18 Sig was square and bulky, the PCR had everything and could hold the black on a 50yd NRA target but had to go to the g43 for deep concealment in a Enigma holster.  The PCR fits well enough in a IWB MTR leather holster meant for the regular 75 compact, only problem I had with the PCR was the ECI loosening up and almost losing it.  Another note, for some reason the PCR was consistently more accurate than the 75 compact steel frame.

Now, PCR or P01 vs P07...

I should clarify, I have both the CZ P-01 Omega and the CZ 75 PRC, he PCR is a little thinner and seems to have better balance and feel with my style of gripping,  as well as better accuracy.
