I'd be honored, as I'm sure Pevadijk is.

Heck Angus, I'll do you one better. I get my 97B on Monday and I'll do the whole thing and include pictures this time. Put me on the list for a new safety if you get that worked out with CZ.

Yes, I'd be honered to write something about installing the parts........but don't mind my English, because sometimes I have to think long and hard as to how I should tell something.

But is there also coming a new safety to use with the new hammer, or didn't I understand Sang's post correctly?

BTW, a 'racepedal' safetylever would be nice and something I might want for my 75B and if it would be pre-fitted for the competition hammer, it would be even better.
But don't tell my wife that I want more toys and gizmos :rollin

And Angus, are there anymore custom-items you're breeding on?

Guys that would be great we could make a complete page on the web site.
Thumb safety is next project I started cutting on some stuff yesterday but the angles are kinda difficult to work with I will do more with this when I am in the factory mid march they have more parts to butcher then I do:D
I have some other ideas, and as they come along we will see what transpires.

You MUST come out with an oversize safety of the proper size and shape for shorter thumbs.  I have an XL size glove, but the CZ safety and I do not get along as my thumb is of average length.  Please design an oversize shelf that starts closer to the rear of the safety and is plenty oversized.  Something like a wide kings 1911 safety would be perfect.
I would buy 2..

I have a welded up safety for my champion which of course is not legal in USPSA IPSC yet but if the fctory make one for me.
All I can say id keep giving the idea and we will see what we can do.
I am going to start an ideas thread right now.

Hi Angus. I was wondering when either the home factory or CZ-USA will start listing these parts. It would seem that until they are listed in a "factory" cataloge, printed or on-line, they may not be recognized as legal for IPSC production division.

thanks,
cliff meek

I have been reading that and it is coming we are in the process of opening the CZ Custom Shop. As well as offering these parts they will be available on CZ guns from the factory Custom Shop making them legal for production.
Here is our problem

Angus, I like the competition rear sight but I don't want a tall front sight.  How much would I have to file down the comp rear sight to work with a standard front sight?

That's really gun specific. Every gun shoots slightly different from POA, and every platform has a different effective POA. My 85 Compact has a taller front sight than my 97B.

Understand each gun will vary a small amount.  Let me re-phrase the question:  How much higher is a Competition rear sight than a stock rear sight in general.

On my 97B, it was the same height. On the 85 Compact it was about 2mm taller.

If the CZ 40B is a transverse dovetail then sorry no. The FO front fit all the linear standard CZ dovetails ie front to back
MAybe dawson has something that could be modified to fit.

It is a transverse dovetail for the front sight.  I think it was reported some time ago in the 40B forum that at least the rear dovetail is the same as the Colt Commander.  It was Walt, I think, who said that.  Perhaps the front is also the same as the Colt Commander?
