OK, I got sidetracked, didn't show the pics/targets from the one from a few days ago, soooo, I'll combine with todays fun fest.

A few days ago, I took the P07 out to see how well it would do at 25 yards, benched.
Is it me, or does that look kinda far away?

I don't have any actual benching stuff, sandbags, etc., so I used my range bag. By the way, that doesn't really work very well.

I only got one group worth showing...

That would be great as a 3 shot group! That wouldn't be bad at all if it was a 4 shot group - but it is a 5 shot group...while I would love to say, "two in one hole!", I can't buy it, so number 5 is lost in space somewhere.
A few days later, I decided to make sure the EOTech on the vz-58 was on at 75 yards. I benched it, as best I can, no bag, just braced elbows and tightened new Israeli sling - this one.

Typical group,

Best group,

All well and good, except for one WEIRD stoppage. Two Failures to Fire with light primer strikes made me look very closely at the reciever, figuring my unscientific dirt test had finally clogged the firing pin channel. Nope, it was good, but the bolt wasn't going all the way forward, actually stopping just out of battery! What the heck? So I worked the bolt, which quickly began going back into battery, when I noticed a tiny shiny disc of brass, bent over in a corner in the reciever. Say huh? I pried it out, and all was well. it wasn't until later I found out WHERE that bit o' brass came from...

That will get your attention! Very old Remington brass, good WSR Primers, standard load of 24grains Accurate Arms #1680 at 2.17 under a 123 Hornady FMJ. I am wondering if old brass with a worn primer pocket had let the primer expand to the point of losing that disc of brass? In any case, that case is now in the recycle can. 5 years I got out of that one.

All in all, a good trip, discounting the idiot family shooting the next bay over waving ARs and HK rifles everywhere...I saw enough safety violations in 5 minutes to last me a few years...so I didn't stick around too long, but I still had a good time. vz-58 preformed perfectly - that busted primer is my fault, not the rifle. I LIKE this new sling, too! Try one!
