CGW "Race Hammer" Peak
« on: February 06, 2012, 10:55:34 PM »
The CGW "Cajun Race Hammer" has been a long time coming, and it's really, really, close to being available.  I have attached a prototype photo, however several changes are pending.  This prototype is for fitting and function testing.  Needless to say, the lower end is "perfect", the upper area will be refined and see some design changes.  What I can say is it will be unique, of superb quality, priced right, and will completely change the look and performance of a CZ

It will feature a generous rear sight relief for low profile adjustable sights, however this will be hidden with the hammer at rest; very wide .250" profile, and be extra heavy for excellent primer ignition with reduced power hammer springs, just to name a few.

WOW...that is AWESOME!  Is it DA/SA or SAO?  Any issues running it with a decocker?  Please tell me it will be available in black.

Looks good.  Will make a nice addition to a CZ built for Open/Limited/L10, ESP or Steel.

One more gun project to add to my wishlist of projects that I want to do.
A-1 Dinsintegrating Pistol
Illudium Q36 Explosive Space Modulator

To answer a few questions, the hammer in the pic is a carbon steel prototype in the white, all production hammers will be blued, and the material will be heat treated tool steel.

I will offer a decocker version, but will be slightly higher in cost (not much) since I will order in the DA/SA version and mill the LH side off for D/C'ers.  To expensive to have 2 versions presently.

That really looks great.
I remember you talking about this for light strike solutions.    It also looks good for manually decocking.   8)

Awesome! Hopefully it will compete price wise with the CZ Comp hammer. Keep up the great work Schmeky.

Price is still pending, but I am confident it will go for around $68-$70.00, plus S&H, so it should be right in line.  I am excited and hope to have a large initial batch in the end of this month, but I can't be certain as of yet.

New springs, new hammer, and I still have some other stuff I'm working on . . . . it's fun going broke :o

Nice job.

Do you think they will be available for a SA Tactical Sport? If so I might as well send you the money...  ;)

Huskerlrrp,

Not sure about a Tactical Sport, but if the Comp hammer fits, so will this.  I think the Tac Sport is SAO, if so, just leave the disco off the Cajun Race Hammer.

@Schmeky
Finally a peak at the Race Hammer. Looks like just what you promised: a real bad A$$...

Will you have it in .318 width all over? That is the notch width for Shadow and TS.
