It would be probably safe to assume that the difference between the rotational velocity of the factory and race hammer is negligible.

I have ZERO credentials (as may soon become apparent) , but I think it's more likely safe to assume it's inversely "proportional" to the increased mass transfer to the extremity--re Newton/inertia.  The more mass transferred to the extremity, the "slower" it would accelerate.  The word slower may be the key.  Given enough time and distance the rotational velocity may reach/approach the same speed.

On the other hand, my pistol that would not reliably ignite a given primer, now has a heavier hammer together with a longer (and minutely heavier) firing pin; and now will ignite the same primer 100% of the time mwith a slightly lighter hammer spring.

Yes.  I have a large EDM Wire company that has guaranteed, in writing, a specific delivery.  I am presently working with a regional EDM company in my home state.  They should have a sample for testing this week.

So I'll work with the regional shop, and if they can't deliver, I will sign an agreement with the large EDM company.  Either way, I will have an initial batch in 7-8 weeks.

Thank you forum members for your input.  The changes that have been suggested have been incorporated into the Race Hammer.  The "window" will follow the contour of the rear of the slide and I must admit, it looks fantastic (I was forwarded a pic by the EDM shop).  There is a final sample on the way.

The hammer blanks have been ordered, the program for the EDM wire cutter has been finalized, and production is just weeks away.  I must say, I have found an EDM machinist that is way more anal than I am - PERFECT!  The hammer quality will be unsurpassed.  A lot of time was spent with seemingly simple aspects, such as perfecting the cocking serrations for instance; they are low profile, angled 15 degees, and give an excellent grip for cocking.  There will be tasteful, beautiful asthetic radii on the hammer, low cut clearance area to clear practically any rear sight, etc.

One thing I am confident of, it will be available very soon, and it will be worth the wait!

eagerly waiting for launch.
Will these be available in SS finish to match the color of 75b SS (limited edition, or plain matte)?

Final prototype.  Still some slight tweaking to do.  You can see how I tied in the upper window contour to the rear hammer contour.  Looks really good whether it's on the pistol or off.  Forgot to mention, the Race hammer uses the same angle as the sear, i.e. 72 degrees, this means a long lasting, durable trigger pull.  The trigger pull is simply awesome.

Thank you to the forum members for their input on the shape of the hammer.  I took the advice given and I think it turned out good.  Notice the generous rear sight relief for a low profile rear sight.

Production will begin the end of this month and I should receive an initial inventory the first week, +/-, of June.  I should also have a new rear sight in June (not adjustable though, but still working on it!)

Good looking hammer.

What advantage will the new rear sight have?
