2.5-3" groups at 50y..isn't that a standard for custom 1911s? From a ransom rest too..
Coolbox--That is the OLD standard, maybe 2" from a Ransom rest at 50 yards with a good custom 1911. MY standard, however, is the plastic fantastic JB-Weld CGW P-09 that is good for 1" at 25, 2" at 50 yards, 4" at 100 yards, 8" at 200 yards from a two handed wrist rest with me shooting it, on a good shooter day as recently as last Sunday, in the wind.
Seriously, if this 75B service pistol shoots close to the P-09's when I'm shooting pistols well, I'm happy. Every indication I got from last night's rushed session is that the gun/bushing/sight combination is really good now, and it was unacceptable (and rarely shot) with the factory bushing and open sights compared to my "good" pistols, which are the two CGW P-09's and one CGW CZ-97B"E".
The real test will be a full bullseye training session single handed, standing, at 25 and 50 yards compared to the current excellent 97B"E" match gun. All I verified last night was zero, mechanical function of the sight and slide, and my lack of ability to settle down and shoot well when rushed.
This is fun. This is not easy.
