A rare batch of SP-01 Compacts available

Looking to purchase one of these guns and have a quick question. Can the kadet 2 be use on this gun ? It would be a great option if able to use the gun.  Want a 2nd CZ and wife wants a 22 pistol, should would be a win for me!

It has the P-01 frame, so according to the CZ USA site you'll need a different slide stop for last shot hold open. They'll send it to you.... It'll be nest to see it all up and running when you get it.

I saw these pop up on Gunbroker and a few retailers listed on Slickguns a couple weeks or so ago and have been thinking about buying one, but ultimately decided that it's not really my dream CZ. I want this same gun, but with an aluminum alloy frame and serrated front and back of grip, like a P-01 with a safety. Will probably settle for a P-01 Omega once I can find one to check it out in person. A steel frame CZ 75 Compact is a heavy handgun. A full size H&K USP45 actually weighs less and is quite a bit larger (yes, I understand it's also made of plastic). I'm just not sure what I'd do with something like this when I already have an SP-01 and several pre-B 75's for range use, and my gun funds right now are going toward buying AR's prior to the election, so I decided to pass. If they are still available in 6 months or a year, I may reconsider.

Interesting to hear owners saying that the trigger is gritty. As you shoot it more, I'd be interested to hear how it smooths out. I picked up my SP-01 last month and it had such a buttery smooth trigger out of the box that I was under the impression that CZ had perhaps improved their production methods on new guns to improve the trigger pull on new guns.

Satisficing wouldn't be a bad idea for the immediate future...  If the gun is just for range and bedside, I don't know how these would do you wrong...  There are only 500 of these and something like 300 left per online inventories, so I wouldn't wait if it's nearly but not quite what you want...

I received mine today.  As I expected, it's pretty much a CZ75 Compact with an extra wide railed steel frame, more meat at the front of the slide and ambidextrous safety.  The trigger feels OK, but the safety have no distinct point where you can feel that it's on or off.  I've never had a CZ like this.

Funny you mention the safety. After making the modification to my sear to allow the safety to work with the Competition Hammer mine was much more positive. It definitely wasn't my favorite safety on a CZ, but mostly because I don't have large hands and it wasn't the easiest to reach. Put grip tape on mine. Here's a video of it now.

You received yours today and I ordered mine today. With all the great information on the forum about this pistol I feel like I already have a good idea of what to expect. Can't wait to get it.

Like Scarlet, I adjusted mine to be more positive. I installed CGW's adjustable sear and it was a snap (pun intended).

I just manually worked on my OEM sear to fit it for the competition hammer. If you order a competition or race hammer and get the CGW adjustable sear it saves you time and effort from doing what I had to do. I'd recommend one of those hammers no questions asked. You can read my test on upgrades and get the details on how awesome they are. Then you can fit the OEM sear or get the adjustable one.

Bret, I initially complained about the poor definition of the safeties.  There is a bunch of goopy preservative on these things.  After cleaning out the preservative and proper lubrication and installing a bunch of new parts including a CZC comp hammer, a CGC disconnector, and a CGW adjustable sear, the safety actuation is very good.  Its tactile and audible.  It's not as snappy and positive as our shadows but its fine, safe and eminently useable.

If I didn't have to tear into the sear cage to install the short reset lifter arm, I would have done what Scarlet did. But since I had to tear the sear apart to install the short lifter arm anyway, I installed the adjustable sear. I couldn't see putting a competition hammer in without the short reset. The sear just makes it easier to adjust the safety.
