I just 'visited' mine at my FFL and grabbed the paperwork to start the ridiculous NY process of actually being able to take the gun home. I had to give up the mags (giving to a LEO in my local shooting club) so have 10 rounders on order already. Hope to get it all in by the time I can take the gun home. Very excited!

Ugh that sounds like a rotten process...
Yes it is... have to go the the dealer to get paperwork, bring it to the police headquarters, fill out more paperwork there and then have to bring it back to the dealer. Give him the PD paperwork and then fill out the 4473 at the dealer. Then I get the gun, to bring back to the PD so they can inspect it and put it on the back of my pistol license then finally get to take it home.... ridiculous.

Either way, going to pick up the gun tomorrow to bring it back to the PD. At least I was able to get one and will enjoy the time at the range with it!

So glad I don't live in a state like that!

A friend of mine just ordered one yesterday. I'll help with some basic polishing and go shoot with him. Sample size of 2 for me!

That's terrible. I'm very happy here in AZ.  When the gun arrives at my FFL it's a 15 minute process and you're out the door with you firearm. Good Luck !!!

Went shooting with a friend and his wife last weekend. She likes shooting, but has always shot my friends small carry guns and her Ruger LCP. She shot my SP-01 and SP-01 Compact and seemed to enjoy them. I saw my friend today and he said she more or less told him that after shooting my CZ's she realized that she has never actually had fun shooting all those snappy little pistols. She liked them so much she told my friend she wants to do a training course now and hinted she wanted it to be with a real pistol.
So while we were talking he had me send the link for the SP-01 Compact and he ordered her one as a surprise for Christmas (to go with a training class he is going to sign them both up for). That's now two more SP-01 Compacts gone from the pool of what remains because of friends trying mine. I am going to stop letting people shoot this little pistol until I get enough to buy a second for myself... O0

Don't know which county you are in, but years ago, when Monroe County (Rochester) had a Republican County Executive, the County Clerk's office would set up a satellite branch at the Monroe County gun shows. That way purchasers could add a new handgun to their Pistol Permit without leaving the show. (I moved out of NY over 25 years ago)

So is the consensus to order from Mr Gun dealer or the other shop?

That's still the best deal. They just sent the ship confirmation to my friend who ordered one and it took 3 days. Just make sure they have the license info for your ffl. There are other dealers so it's up to you.

I emailed Kentucky Gun Co. To see If they would price match and they never responded.

Suffolk. Not much going to help short of moving one day.

Got to fire a couple hundred rounds yesterday. Absolutely love the pistol! Two of my buddies were there also, think at least one of them is purchasing his own.

My only issue is the safety is a bit too flat. I was not sweeping it off completely all the time. I saw someone here was bale to fit a fatter one on. Will look into that if I can't train myself to use the current one without fail.

Dang it! There needs to be a rule that we all can't let our friends shoot these, they're more contagious than cold sores!
Yeah, the tactical sport safety works. It's totally worth it if you're not getting the safety easily. There's the link where a few of us tried them out.

I'm glad I stumbled across this thread.  I've previously owned a P-01 and the regular Compact 75 and have moved on from both. I like my steel guns all steel so that's why the P-01 went. I thought I'd love the Compact but after a couple of boxes of ammo I wasn't liking how the down swept beaver tail dug into the webbing of my hand so off it went

I was in a LGS today and saw a used P-01 for sale and thought I'd give it another chance. The P-01 seems to have become rare lately so I logged into this forum to see if anyone else was noticing this as well.

Then I saw this thread.  An all steel framed compact with the beavertail of my SP-01!

Only thing better would it to have a decocker as that's my preference but I'll survive with the safety

I'll probably place an order later this afternoon [emoji106]

I'm strongly thinking of picking up one of these for  CC.  I currently do not have a CC pistol but I have shot and love CZ pistols.  How is the weight on these? Is it noticeably more than the P01? Would this conceal well

I noticed quite a bit of difference between my Compact and P-01. Not a deal breaker but noticeable.

The dividend is that the steel gun soaks up more recoil than the alloy frame

While I've joked about getting to stop people from buying these I'm being totally honest. It is heavier than my all steel classic 75 Compact (which is heavier than the P-01). I carry this new pistol now, but I carry in a man satchel (daddy diaper bag sort of thing), so I don't mind the weight. You'll love the pistol, but just know that it is heavy and you have to be willing to carry the weight if it is going to fill that role for you...

I'm curious as well.  Can anyone weigh it and maybe a P-01 and/or other czs for comparison?

Well I purchased one of these rare guns. Then purchased a used Kadet adapter for it also. What a great setup. SP-01 compact .22
Shot about 300 round with it today, what a pleasure. Very accurate grouping also. Thank you to everyone on this thread for the heads up! :)
