Sorry if this has been asked and answered. Eighteen pages is a lot to look through. Does the SP-01 Compact have a beveled magwell like the SP-01?

The magwell is beveled on mine.

Anyone have an idea what one will weigh w/ VZ or Lok grips..? Pick mine up on Monday and will break it down and add the Cajun full-on works and Dawson sights... wondering if it'll make weight (37oz) w/ rubber-base-pad mags to be legit to shoot IDPA CCP with it (if I swap grips too)?
(P.S. I don't really care about the games too much these days, but since I'll carry it, CCP might be the the division I'd shoot it in; though, I'd doubt it'd hold me back in SSP or whatever anyways...)

IDPA has changed the specs on CCP in the Provisional 2017 Rule Book. Weight is now 38 oz plus barrel and height dimensions have changed.
8.2.4.1.3 Barrel length 4 3/8" (4.375", 111.125mm) or less.
8.2.4.1.4 The unloaded firearm with the heaviest magazine must weigh 38.00 oz. (1077.28 grams) or less.
8.2.4.1.5 The firearm with the largest magazine inserted must fit in the IDPA gun test box measuring 7 ?? x 5 3/8? x
1 3/8? (222.3 mm x 136.525 mm x 34mm)

Thanks!

Not official until 2017. I got mine today. Weighted it on a postal scale at the gun shop. ( I work there part time.) 38.5 oz  with a mag. I have a set of Cool Hand grips ordered for it. Hopefully that will help lower the weight. CZ custom sights and some cajun springs and extended firing pin will be next mod. May swap out the thin safety lever on the left side for a standard style.

Depending on the comments it may not make it into the 2017 rulebook, though honestly who knows at this point. I believe the comment period is still going.

Today is the last day for comments on the possible 2017 rule book for idpa. I hope the ccp class weight does go up. It will give me more options on pistols to use.

I submitted a comment against the one point down one second rule, which I think goes too far.

Did you measure the width with stock slim safeties and height?

I'd done setting up guns for anything other than SSP and CDP.

The frequency of changes to the IDPA rules is absurd.

I got mine finished last weekend. I'm pleased but there might be a little more work to do. I'm getting 9lb DA and a little over 4lb with the 13lb (blue) mainspring. I polished everything as I normally do and it's very very smooth trigger pull but a touch higher than I want. I believe the majority of the improvement lay in the firing pin block movement.
I'm not sure how I feel about the TruGlo sights after shooting them outdoors. They are very easy to pick up and work great in the dark but precision work is difficult. I think for self defense and with "old eyes"  they would be desirable (I have 20/15 and I haven't lost my near vision...yet). I'm used to a very small fiber optic on the front and a beveled and serrated rear. However, it may just be something I need to get used to.
I'm very pleased with the accuracy (Cajun 10x bushing). It was very near my Accushadow (non-scientific off hand shooting at 25 yds). Next thing I'm going to do is try it with a longer slide...just for the hell of it.

The top image is steel frame P01 Compact, with 10x bushing and 6.3gr of AA#5 and a 124gr Gold Dot.
The lower image is the Accushadow with 4.3gr of VV320 and a 124gr Montana Gold HP.
Both were shot offhand with 2-3 seconds between shots (25yds). No cherry picking of groups...one after the other. Flyers are all me. The weapons have much more potential.
