Maybe not too rare, but such a sweet shooter.  I really need to keep my eyes open for this gun in .40.  That would make a fantastic carry gun for winter duty.

You're in luck. One just popped up on Gunbroker today. Don't have the link handy but it came up in one of my searches.

Thanks, I saw that one.  I ended up making a deal on one right here on the CZFirearms site though.  Once I get it, cajunize it and figure out what grips I want to go with, I'll post up photos.  In the mean time, this is the 9mm SP01 Compact I picked up recently:

Could you tell me what the width is on your SP01 Compact?
The Slide and Frame. PLEASE!

Another one made it home, gun show buy. Soon to be cajunized into a sao, waiting on a delivery of cajun goodness. Haven't shot it with the lok palmswells but they sure feel fantastic.

"Feel" is different because the weight distribution. If you've felt an SP-01, it just feels right between the classic Compact without the rail and the SP-01. The recoil impulse feels different to me, but I think that has to do with the different beavertail as well as the weight of the rail.

Someone posted official weights in this thread but my Tapatalk app does weird things causing duplicate posts being displayed, so it's hard to find when I'm on my phone.

Made it to an indoor range to practice with 150 rounds. Warmed up with 2 mags and was pushing low left. Quick corrections on my focus and trigger pull. Then with my first SP-01 Compact I shot 2 more mags with 4 rounds each. The target was at 45 feet away, and my splits were about 0.5 seconds. These pistols are a joy to shoot, more accurate than me, and run like tanks!

My friend wanted to learn to shoot pistols, so we went out this last fall. He loved my CZ's! When I got my SP-01 Compact he had his wife get him one for Christmas as his first pistol. She then had me Cajunize it to surprise him.

They came with me on this range trip for his second time shooting pistols and first time with his SP-01 Compact. We went over some fundamentals and I told him he could start at really close range. He just looked over to see where my target was and said "yeah... right, mine is going next to yours!" He didn't go rapid fire or anything, but his pace was about 1.5 second splits. He proceeded to do this with his new SP-01 Compact on his first magazines. He loved it! Blew me away how fast he internalized everything. Also evidence to take classes and learn the proper fundamentals before bad habits are learned (which I'm still fixing having made that mistake). Anyways, these are fantastic pistols!

Ha nice knife and grips, I have a set on my pcr that are similar. The lok palmswells are very nice although a wee bit thicker. Shot both yesterday and couldn't pick a definitive winner on grips for me, although I think the quality is a touch higher on the loks.

How do the LOK's compare to the factory rubbers?

I have the LOK grips in the same black and red color on my SP-01 compact.  Mine are their diamond pattern. I liked the factory rubber grips but the LOK's are awesome.  Very thin and a great grip. Also the price and customer service is the best.

The palmswells are the closest to the rubber that I have felt, maybe just a touch thicker with a different texture. Very nice indeed.

The gentleman who I do all my transfers through asked me to convert his SP-01 Compact to SAO to be like his Colt 1911's. After we talked he wanted it to be a SAO Shadow with the CZC Competition Hammer, all the polishing, a red fiber optic front sight. It has a 15 lb main spring, reduced power firing pin spring, reduced power trigger return spring, and the other standard CGW goodies. He gets it tomorrow, and I'm almost sad to see it leave. Trigger feels about as close as I've gotten to a Tactical Sport.

That's awesome. I have the same planned for mine, all the same parts except for curved tip sao trigger and cgw hammer. I have a 97 like this and it's fantastic. Amazing how sweet these can become. Great post you started on a very cool little gun.

Oooh, I'll bet that 97 is an incredible shooting pistol! You'll have to post pics of your SP-01 Compact when you have it all done and let us know how it shoots and feels. Thanks, glad it's helped some people!

My SP01C is completely taken down right now for internal polishing.  There's a bag full of CGW parts enroute for it and when done, will be at the Pro kit level.  I didn't go with the actual Pro kit because I like the ring hammers better than the race hammer, so it was pieced together.  The internal polishing is going well but still needs work in some areas.  I really had mixed feelings about doing a CGW upgrade on this gun because the factory trigger was the best factory trigger I've felt of any of the 15 CZs I've had over the years.
