I ran across a 99041 at my local gun shop for $579 plus tax. This is my first CZ. I also have a cz 75D compact in order from grab a gun. What?s so special about this 99041? Did I just blow $600 or do I really have something special?

Do you have something special? Yes to a certain degree. It's an oddball gun that really serves no purpose (all the other CZ guns serve purposes better than this one) but is simply cool to own and shoot. The SP-01 and CZ75 full size are better range guns and competition guns. The P01 is a better carry gun because of weight.

Supposedly only 50 were produced but I am in serious doubt that is true. Every day I go on gunbroker and see more.  I think in this thread alone we've accounted for probably 20-25 of the supposed 50.

This was the same with the prior model 99021 which supposedly only came in a batch of 1500 but I suspect there were more as well.
I don?t understand the negativity on a sweet rare all steel CZ Compact with rail. This thing is a tank. It will be revered in due time. A used 99021 sold today for $765 plus shipping and transfer fees. So whether you think there?s a conspiracy by CZ to withhold the true amount of these being imported or not, the writing is on the wall. There?s little supply and high demand. I?m sorry to hear it?s not for you but I?m glad CZ is offering some cool variants to the US market

I'm not claiming they are bad guns. They just have no practical purpose that other Cz's don't already satisfy. They are cool in their own right.

There's no hatred here. I'm being objective.

As far as a conspiracy is concerned, believe what you want. I continue to see 99041 for sale NIB.
It may not fit your carry, but how can you say this beauty will serve no purpose?  That?s an objective opinion about a subjective aspect of the gun. I can say for me it will serve the purpose of putting a smile on my face for a long time

I didn't say they served no purpose. Just not as well as other CZ models.

All of my guns make me happy. It doesn't mean they all serve a purpose. Many do not.

Carry - the P01 is a better fit due to weight
IPSC - nope
IDPA - the SP01 is better
I could go on.

I appreciate these for what they are: interesting CZ's
You can still get this one https://www.gunbroker.com/item/746050199

I already own one.

There are 4 for sale on Gunbroker at the moment.

It's been that way since the middle of December

Until tomorrow. I look at Gunbroker every day. There are a handful each day... And they get sold then a few more pop up.

Initially in the first week or two I saw them being sold and thought they would run out.

Almost 6 weeks later there seems still to be new stock.

That's why I believe there are way more than 50.

Gunbroker doesn't reflect what is in local gun store inventory.

Thank you. I was waiting for your conspiracy theory to come out. That?s too funny. Why check every day? Is CZ and these 4 sellers are all in on it together? To disguise the true inventory?

I look because I'm look I'm trying to find actual rare guns that don't show up everyday.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you want. I have nothing to gain by this.

No one is in cahoots with CZ. They are just selling their inventory. Business as usual.

The Math:

  • A quick check on Gunbroker shows that there have been 70 completed auctions for the 99041. 34 of them have had no bids. (Assume those were not sold)
  • There are 3 current auctions for this gun.
  • I personally know of 3 (that I saw with my own eyes, one that I own) that were not sold on Gunbroker

This accounts for 42 of the 50 supposed units.

TechNetArmory still has them.
CajunGunWorks still has them

We haven't accounted for any of the guns sold at local gun stores. This count is just what was available on GunBroker.
There are people in this thread that did not buy on GunBroker. I'm not going to bother trying to add them up. I think I've made my point.

Not sure if you want to call this a conspiracy or not. I wouldn't.

t's the same thing that happened with the 99021 model when it came out. Several batches of them came out.
It's not a big deal. It's what I expected and those who followed the 99021 probably expected as well.

It doesn't change the fact that it's a cool and interesting gun.

None of my comments were made to "insult" your gun purchase. I get the feeling that people are taking it that way.
Hell I bought one.

While at the gunshow this past weekend, one of the vendors said he had heard that 500 had been made, but stated that it could not be verified (at least to his knowledge), he was however aware of the 99041 SKU and that it  had a "bit" of a following.
“Life doesn’t have to be perfect......to be good”

CZ 75 Omega Convertible
CZ P01 Compact Steel SKU#99041
CZ “CWC” Edition
CZ P-10C FDE...shared
Other......M&P Shield .45, Browning Buckmark .22 (wife’s, but I have to clean it)

To those keeping track ...

one more 99041 accounted for ... it came to Texas, from Rhode Island ... which in and of itself seems a little strange ...

The dealer in R.I. seems to always have range and depth in the CZ line.  Their shipping and prices are always in line or many times the best when they have their vendor sales.  Oh,  and I guess there are a lot of people in Texas that like to buy guns ;)

I'm buying my 41 simply because of the steel frame and rail and NOT because it may or may not be "collectable, odd, rare, unique, or a unicorn".

Anyone else who honestly JUST wants a smaller SP-01?
