Just a quick question, do they all have a lot of resistance on the charging handle?

Mine is about like most AK's.  Make sure you aren't charging it on safe.

Mine lightened considerably after break-in.

But this forum has def made things a lot easier looking into reviews/parts/everything to convince myself I needed a scorpion lol. thanks!

I would caution that this forum makes it easy to get the motivation to turn this:

I guess my cheeks are too chubby. I can't use my Vortex Viper without at least a short riser.

I love this RDS - wide open and fast.

Snapped a pic of mine today, not much sets it apart, other than making my own safety selector out of delrin, I modeled up my own trigger and had it printed.  Ended up printing a smooth trigger in aluminum and a serrated trigger in SS, ended up installing the aluminum because it weighs nothing compared to the stainless.  The face is so far forward, couple that with the spring kit, and trigger pull is just over 4 lbs without any polishing.

Would like to put a Hera SFU on it, and currently waiting for a Rugged obsidian for it to host.

*Bolt is locked to the rear, before anyone objects.  Mag was popped in for the photo after installing the tail hook.  All that's really left is dumping the ugly FDE ladders and a muzzle device of some variety.  And some QD's for the sling.

I am thinking of a CZ folding stock with the adapter for the tail hook myself. Very nice set up, looks great.  8)

When GHW dropped the idea of the factory folder and the tailhook... I knew it was going to blow everything else away.  Getting it confirmed that.  It's just the best thing going for the Scorpion at this point IMO.

You mean other than an SBR with the factory folder I assume.  8)

Actually... No.  And I hate even writing it out.  But it's just as functional as the rifle without the NFA status, $200, travel restrictions, etc.  In states with laws about loaded rifles in vehicles, the pistol status is even more permissive.  It's easier to sell, etc.  The truth is the tailhook may even be better than the SBR...

Just for the record the "easier" to sell thing is a myth.

If you no longer want a SBR and want to sell it, reconfigure it in a non-NFA configuration and simply sell it.

The ATF asks that you notify them to remove it from the NFA registry, but it is not required.
