Just for the record the "easier" to sell thing is a myth.

If you no longer want a SBR and want to sell it, reconfigure it in a non-NFA configuration and simply sell it.

The ATF asks that you notify them to remove it from the NFA registry, but it is not required.

I personally would buy a gun with someone's old trust/ info engraving on it, so there's that too.

Have you seen what some people do to their guns around here?  Don't think it would be an issue. lol

Removing the nfa items does not reclassify, once its taxed and engraved with stamp the new user could go out and buy/slap on the nfa items and now be using a gun illegally and if he gets caught that stamp is still registered to the original user. The buyer would have to pay the $200 tax and have the existing stamp transfered on approval or removed

A lot of people do not understand NFA laws.

Some people spread stuff that is incorrect.

You are one of them and you have done so over and over again here.

While it is possible to remove the gun from the NFA registry and lose out your $200 tax you already paid, to do so requires written notification to the NFA branch.  And they will also mail you a letter stating they received the notification and have removed it for future "proof" that it is no longer an SBR.

It is not optional.

If you sell an SBR (regardless of whether it has a stock or not is irrelevant), you better make sure that it's done in accordance with the law.

If the gun is still registered as an SBR, and you sell it outright, you better make sure the buyer files a form 1 because you're transferring an SBR illegally if you don't, which is a felony in and of itself.

I have no intention to hijack the picture thread topic to debate this.  I just hate to see someone get into trouble because they listened to your nonsense.

I'm sorry you put all that effort into your post just to be wrong. Ill be back in a bit and link to the relevant information.

Edit: Just for starters, don't worry Ill add more:

Should You Change Your Mind Entirely

This FAQ lays it out pretty clearly, but if you revert your firearm to non-NFA configuration and no longer possess the parts to configure it back into NFA land, then the firearm is officially no longer subject to the NFA. You can, and likely should, shoot a letter off to the ATF to inform them of this, but you don?t legally have to. You can now treat the gun like any other gun, from storage to transport to loaning to selling.

Edit 2:  Still want more?

Q: Is it necessary to send notification to ATF and receive acknowledgement that the SBR or SBS has been removed from the purview of the NFA before it may be sold as a GCA firearm?

There is no requirement for the possessor of a registered NFA firearm to notify ATF that the firearm has been removed from the purview of the NFA. However, ATF recommends the possessor notify the NFA Branch of such changes in writing so that the possessor is not mistakenly identified as the owner if the firearm is later used in a crime. If, at the time of transfer, the firearm does not meet the definition of a SBR, it should be transferred without filing the NFA transfer application and without payment of the transfer tax.

I am aware that if a long barrel is on a short barrel rifle (receiver) that it's not in an SBR configuration.

But that's not what I was talking about.

However, the receiver is in the NFA registry via the serial number of the receiver.

And will remain there until the registry ceases to exist from whatever reason.

Again, I told you that I wasn't going to hijack the thread.

For anyone interested in how to remove their serial number (lower) from the registry, this is the proper method.

https://blog.princelaw.com/2009/03/25/batfe-letter-requesting-removal-of-a-sbrsbs-from-the-nfrtr/

I literally linked you to the ATF document stating you are wrong.  I mean really?  Yes there is a method to remove it by notification.  No its not required by law.  Is it wise to do so? Probably, but that doesn't mean its required.

Your rebuttle so far is:

A.  a Lawyer Blog that doesn't even address the legality of it, just a way to send a notification if you so wish
B. "I said you are wrong and have offered no citations to show why"

I would have hoped for an apology for your original post calling me out, but apparently that is to prideful for you.

that's all i run are the Uzi mags and the Uzi Mag adapter.  There's a fellow on here that makes the adapters and they work great.  I found a place on gun broker that had a good deal on the mags just make sure you go with the pro mags the others won't work.  i ended up less than $30 each for the mag and adapter

Is that a Lage stock you have on there? I'm thinking to get one too. Which length version did you choose? How is it working for you, did you compare this with the factory folding stock? Thanks
